I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking pictures!!! You can ask the people who are around me the most about my photo craze. I like to randomly take out my camera whenever I feel like it is a photographic moment in my head. It doesn't even have to be anything special. There's just something about capturing a certain angle or certain moment that entices me and makes me happy! :D Most of the pictures that I have posted in the first two blog entries are from my old phone (Sony Ericsson 880i) and the rest are from my old camera (Olympus Stylus 400). The camera I currently use is a Canon SD 880 IS which I love a lot. <3 I also use my phone to capture moments when I don't have my camera with me. I recently bought a DSLR (Canon Rebel XS)!:D There is minor Picasa or Photoshop editing for some of the pictures. I know these aren't the best pictures in the world, but enjoy them anyway because they are special to me! :) p.s. clicking on the pictures will let you look at them big version :)

Aquarium of the Pacific! 3.27.09

a.k.a Long Beach Aquarium! whoohoo! So over spring break, I was just randomly looking up places online and I thought about the Long Beach Aquarium. I've gone there about 10 years ago with my family and I didn't really remember much about it. I remembered it was a huge place, there was a big whale hanging from the ceiling, and lots and lots of fish swimming in the tanks. As I was navigating on the website, I got pretty excited to see the fish, sharks, sea otters, and other sea creatures. I talked to a few of my friends and we arranged for a trip there on Friday of that week. I was quite excited. Here are some of the pictures that documented that day :) [I was quite sad I didn't have a DSLR to take pictures with because that would have made picture taking easier since it had a quicker shutter speed. Nonetheless, I got a few decent pictures.]

Doesn't this jellyfish just look majestic? I like the color gradient of the blues that contrasts the colors of the jellyfish :) pretty.

I don't know what to say about these little fellas. They're quite creepy looking and swam right up against the display window. -backs away-

Hooray for stuffed animals. There was a little booth to build your own stuffed sea creature. it was kinda interesting.

Super loud and scary parrots that fly into you and shoot poo everywhere in the confined cage area. traumatizing but they look cool :)

I liked the zebra striped fish in the back. Pretty cool lookin'!

There was a crowd of people standing around the tank so I went to see what was going on. As I walked up, I saw a HUGE crab just sitting there with a claw missing. That was kinda cool but I still wasn't sure what was so amusing about it. Then I looked further into the tank and saw that another crab had enclosed it's claws on a starfish, gripping it and seeming like it was going to eat it. BUT it failed. I don't think I would have wanted to see the crab eat the starfish. But...cool lighting in this tank :)

As I stood at this tank attempting to take a picture of the colorful fish, this little girl walked up next to me and tried to do the same. Her parents stood behind watching her/the fish and I heard the little girl's mom say to the dad, "Honey, we're gonna have great pictures for today." Hehe. Give a kid a camera for a day and see waht pictures they take!
